Our wine hunters selected this wine because of the two main grape varietals that make up the organic blend. These are among two of the most popular grape varietals sold in the United States. We wanted to give our Sip and Savor wine enthusiasts the opportunity to experiment with a Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Sicily.
Even though the varietals are often blended in North America, they taste very different when grown in Italy. The Grillo Black will help to evolve your palate.
The blend also has 10% of an indigenous Italian grape varietal called Colorino. This grape is known for its deep dark coloring. Often grape varietals are blended to utilize the strongest character of each varietal. In this case, the Colorino gives this wine a nice deep, sophisticated ruby color.
